OPEN POSITIONS
- Design, prototype, and test an antenna feed array
- Become familiar with system models and be able to relate feed element characteristics to total system characteristics and performance
- Investigate alternate antenna feed technologies (printed patch, 3D printed waveguide, etc.) and become familiar with trade-offs
- Work with our team to establish the best technical direction
- Perform detailed design to achieve overall optimum performance in terms of beam shape, beam overlap, gain, efficiency, etc.
- Contribute to all phases of the antenna development life cycle (requirements, systems and circuit design, integration of RF and wireless circuits and systems, testing, and manufacturing activities)
- Create the related feed network and switching element design
- Work with others in the team to test and integrate a complete radio transceiver
- Develop calibration models
Basic Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of experience with a Bachelor’s, or a Master’s degree in an engineering discipline with an emphasis in electromagnetic theory and/or microwave circuits
- Good, intuitive understanding of electromagnetics and optics in microwave systems (refraction, diffraction, Huygen’s principle, etc.)
- Experience in designing phased array antennas
- Experience in the design of patches, horns, or similar compact antennas
- Expertise in electromagnetic simulation tools like HFSS, CST, or FEKO
- Application of system simulation tools like Python or MATLAB
- Familiarity with range testing and ability to operate relevant test equipment
- Understanding of antenna theory and propagation
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills and ability to work in a team
Preferred Qualifications:
- Broader experience of RF/microwave systems (particularly 10.7 GHz – 51.4 GHz)
- Experience with near field testing
- Design of microwave front ends (transmit and/or receive)
- Experience with space-qualified systems
- Familiarity with relevant manufacturing techniques

• Ultimate ownership of ensuring the successful operation of payloads on orbit
• Electrical architecture and design, product requirements, component selection, analysis, schematic capture, and documentation

Basic Qualifications:
• Engineering degree

• Schematic capture and PCB layout using EDA tools
• 1+ years of designing and delivering hardware
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with FPGA development and firmware development
• 2+ years of experience in full life-cycle hardware development, from concept through production
• 2+ years of experience in designing and implementing boards using FPGAs, MCUs, ethernet, I2C, SPI, ADCs, and DACs
• 2+ years of hands on experience in testing, troubleshooting, and debugging electronics

- Detailed design of RF circuits in satellite payloads and in electronically steered antennas (ESA)
- Selection and specification of components for RF circuits, including line amplifiers, HPA, LNA, mixers, cavity tuned band pass filters, microstrip and stripline printed components, high speed A/D and D/A converters, Terabit backplane switching and control components, power conditioning components, power and heat management components, hybrids, and ASIC
- Model RF system behavior and validate RF system performance
- Develop interfaces between RF circuits and antennas
- Evaluate and test new components and technologies
- Perform trade studies between cost and performance
- Estimate the development time, NRE costs, and recurring costs for various RF circuits
- Contribute to all phases of development life cycle (requirements definition, systems and circuit design, integration of RF and wireless circuits and systems, testing, and manufacturing activities)
Basic Qualifications:
- Master’s degree, preferably a PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 10 years of broad experience doing RF/Analog circuit design and board layout using the relevant tools
- Graduate degree in Electrical Engineering or some equally strong theoretical background
- Experience modeling, designing, and testing RF subsystems, preferably for satellite payloads
- Expertise in RF front end design and integration of RF subsystems
- Experience using HFSS, CST, ADS, Clarity, GRASP, GENESYS or similar RF simulation tools
- Experience doing microwave analysis (and electrical analysis in general) using Python, MATLAB, or similar tools
- Familiarity with directional couplers, circulators, and other waveguide components
- Practical and theoretical knowledge of mixed signal design
- Practical and theoretical knowledge of modulation methods and modem capabilities
- Ability to perform bench-level analog/power bring-up and troubleshooting using analog and digital test equipment like spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and vector signal generators
- Hands-on prototyping and debug experience testing complex RF subsystems
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to manage suppliers, recruit talent, lead teams, and manage projects
- Experience in the design of satellite payloads and in managing radiation effects

- Own the development of assembly, integration, and test (AI&T) strategies for innovative new satellite technologies at scale

Basic Qualifications:

In this role you will be responsible for developing software tools that measure and optimize the effectiveness and feasibility of advanced satellite communication constellations. This includes:
• Working with the engineering team to optimize the constellation design
• Developing optimization techniques and algorithms to solve complex telecom constellation design problems, such as beam placement and interference mitigation
• Using and creating software tools to model constellation performance, utilization, and lifecycles
• Modelling global market demand for communication services and constellation support infrastructure (ground stations etc.)
• Optimizing computational efficiency of in-house modelling tools
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, aerospace, or related field
• Experience developing in Python (especially numpy and pandas)
• Strong understanding and knowledge of 3D vector geometry and calculus
